Rupnagar Press Club Celebrates Press Freedom Day

Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner Shri. G.K. Singh being Honoured by the Members of Rupnagar Press Club


Rupnagar Press Club celebrated the World Press Freedom Day by organising a function at the press club complex here today. Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner G.K.Singh was the chief guest of the function.

While speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner felicitated the media persons on the Press Freedom Day.

He said that being fourth estate Media had played an important role in the democracy of the country as well as economic development and social change in India due to free media in the country.

He also said that media had a big responsibility in the creation of a non- discriminatory, secular and a healthy society.

Deputy Commissioner also assured that district administration would every kind of help to Rupnagar Press Club in its various endevours.

Noted Social activist Dr.R.S.Parmar, DPRO Harjit Singh Grewal,Club President Bahadurjeet Singh,General Secretary Rajinder Saini and chief advisor Satish Jagota also spoke on the occasion.
