Rupnagar scribes hold protest over attacks on media persons
Rupnagar, February 18The journalists of Rupnagar staged a demonstration under the banner of Rupnagar Press Club,in front of the office of the deputy commissioner here on Thursday to protest against attacks on the media persons,who were performing their professional duty,at Patiala house court in Delhi by some lawyers.
While addressing the protestors Rupnagar Press Club President Bahadurjeet Singh condemned the attacks on media persons and termed it an attack on the freedom of media.

He alleged that government had failed to protect the media persons from such attacks.
He demanded a judicial probe in to the incidents and stern action against the people involved in these attacks.
He also demanded that concrete steps must be taken to prevent the reoccurrence of such incidents in future.
Lateron,the journalist also submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner Karnesh Sharma for forwarding the same to the President of India demanding the intervention of the president in the matter.
