Addressing the media persons during the 'Meet the Press' programme organized by the Rupnagar Press Club here today, Dr. Cheema said that the Punjab was in deep financial mess.
He said that the finance minister's explanation about paying the liabilities and interest of previous loans was not justified because the previous governments have also been paying theses liabilities and interests .H said that Aam Aadmi Party has promised to generate an additional income of Rs 36,000 crore by stopping the corruption and Rs 20,000 crore from sand minning. Where did the income that was promised to generate had gone?,he questioned.

He said that the Punjab government claimed to have working hard to end corruption in punnjab, but the issue of Lokpal on which Aam Aadmi Party leaders had agitated in Delhi, had been put on back burner it had not set up Lokpal in Delhi nor in Punjab yet. On the contrary, some leaders of the party in Delhi are in jail on charges of corruption.
He said that the Punjab government has failed to remove the scourge of unemployment and drugs in the state and to fulfill the expectations of the people and development in the state has come to a complete standstill.
He said that all the decisions of Punjab government are being made from Delhi which is very unfortunate for Punjab.
He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has failed to achieve anything for Punjab in the North Zonal Council meeting held at Amritsar.
In response to a question Dr. Cheema said that the alliance between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress is an opportunistic alliance.
